On Joe Rogan's podcast, Altman said, "I'm disappointed by the recent actions of the U.S. government. But this war on cryptocurrency—we can't give up on it. The idea that we're going to take control of [Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies] makes me deeply sad for this country."
Altman added, "I'm also excited about Bitcoin. I think the idea of having a global currency that isn't controlled by any government is a very logical and important step in technological evolution."
