TechFlow reports that the sharded public blockchain QuarkChain has announced its transition into an Ethereum Layer 2 project, leveraging its sharding technology to enhance Ethereum's capabilities. The core technology of QuarkChain Layer 2 is zk Fraud Proof, aimed at reducing the finality time of Optimistic Rollups to address scalability challenges.
QuarkChain also stated that EthStorage, a project it is incubating, aims to significantly expand storage capacity to the petabyte level—while requiring only a fraction of current costs—by creating a storage roll-up on Ethereum/QuarkChain and leveraging the security of the base layer.
The QuarkChain team has developed the web3 access protocol (ERC-4804) to mitigate centralization risks associated with centralized servers such as http:// or ipfs:// when displaying data on websites. It is also actively engaging with DApps, rollups, and other projects to expand its ecosystem.
