TechFlow news: The Fantom Foundation is exploring the introduction of Optimistic Rollups technology between Fantom and Ethereum. However, co-founder and architect Andre Cronje views traditional Layer 2 networks as sidechains, with Optimistic Rollups serving as the bridge connecting the two.
Cronje confirmed that if Fantom adopts Optimistic Rollups and maintains a complete transaction history on Ethereum, Fantom will need to pay transaction fees to write these historical snapshots onto Ethereum.
Michael Kong, CEO of the Fantom Foundation, added that by deploying Layer 2 technology in this way, the Fantom network will be able to gain greater liquidity from the Ethereum ecosystem.
