TechFlow news — On June 12, crypto venture capital firm a16z announced it will open an office in London, with plans to officially launch later this year. The new office, led by a16z General Partner Sriram Krishnan, aims to advance the development of cryptocurrency and startup ecosystems in the UK and Europe. Additionally, a16z plans to host its next Crypto Startup School in London in spring 2024.
The establishment of the London office has received support from UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who expressed his "determination to unlock opportunities for this technology and turn the UK into the world's Web3 hub," showing strong expectations for a16z's growth in the country.
Beyond expanding its presence in the UK, a16z will continue making significant investments in the United States and collaborating with U.S. policymakers and regulators to promote clearer regulations for crypto startups.
