TechFlow news, according to the EOS Support official website, EOS will undergo a Leap 3.1.0 consensus upgrade (hard fork) on September 21. The name EOS will remain unchanged, while only the EOSIO codebase (the underlying code library of EOS) will be forked and renamed to Antelope. Antelope is not a new chain, so there will be no new token or airdrop. Antelope is a fork of EOSIO 2.0, the codebase that previously powered EOS and other EOSIO sister blockchains. After September 21, EOS will operate on Antelope Leap v3.1.0. This consensus upgrade will introduce Faster Finality and enable cross-chain communication (without trusted bridges) among all chains based on Antelope.
