TechFlow reports that Yam Finance (YAM) has published a blog post stating that YAM will continue to exist as long as Ethereum supports the contract. It can no longer be modified through governance and thus will operate technically in a manner similar to other rebasing assets such as AMPL. The YAM/yCRV Uniswap V2 pool will remain insecure indefinitely. Although 75% of the liquidity was removed from the pool prior to YAM's second rebase, any remaining liquidity should be withdrawn as soon as possible.
We believe the YAM community should have the opportunity to carry on. We will set up a Gitcoin donation campaign to coordinate a community-funded audit of the YAM contracts. If the fundraising target is met, upon completion of the audit, we plan to support the launch of YAM 2.0 via the migration contract.
