UK CMA Launches Investigation into Microsoft Over Copilot Price Increase

TechFlow reports, on July 29, according to Bloomberg, the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) announced an investigation into Microsoft to verify whether it fully disclosed relevant subscription price change information to users after bundling Copilot AI features into the Microsoft 365 suite (including apps such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and raising prices, as regulators are concerned that consumers may be forced to pay higher fees without clear notification.
