Kimi K3 is about to open source its weights.

TechFlow reports that on July 27, Kimi.ai posted on X stating that it will soon open-source the Kimi K3 model weights. Kimi K3 is the latest model in the Kimi series; previously, the official side had not disclosed specific parameter scale and performance metrics.

Open-sourcing weights means developers and researchers can access model parameters for local deployment and secondary development, without relying on API calls.

Moonshot AI has not announced specific open-source timing and license agreement details. This follows domestic large models such as Alibaba Qwen and Zhipu GLM, marking another leading AI company choosing the open-source route.
