SoftBank $40 Billion OpenAI Investment Loan Adds 21 Lenders

According to knowledgeable sources, SoftBank Group's $40 billion bridge loan raised to invest in OpenAI attracted 21 new lending institutions to join in the broader syndicated financing phase. Sources stated that these new lenders collectively secured a share of approximately $7 billion of the loan facility. Among them, First Abu Dhabi Bank, Government of Singapore Investment Corporation, and Standard Chartered Bank each subscribed to shares close to $1 billion. The remaining funds were allocated to certain banks in Europe, Japan, and the Taiwan region of China. Sources indicated that the remaining $33 billion of the bridge loan is currently still held by underwriters and senior lenders, but may undergo further syndicated distribution in the future. (Jin10)
