US House of Representatives Passes Defense Bill, Plans to Ban Military Use of Chinese-Made Humanoid Robots

According to a report by the South China Morning Post, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the annual National Defense Authorization Act, in which Section 163 stipulates that the Pentagon will be prohibited from procuring, leasing, or operating humanoid robot systems related to "foreign adversaries" such as China, Russia, and Iran, on grounds involving national security and data privacy. This provision incorporates elements of the "Preventing Adversaries from Dominating the U.S. Robotics Sector Act," but currently the scope of restrictions only involves military procurement and has not yet been expanded to commercial sales.

The report pointed out that Chinese enterprises accounted for approximately 80% of global humanoid robot shipments last year.
