Coinbase Invests in Abu Dhabi Sovereign Wealth Fund Mubadala Tokenized Products
According to Fortune, Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund Mubadala Capital announced a collaboration with Coinbase and infrastructure provider KAIO to tokenize its evergreen private market fund, issuing compliant on-chain tokens to qualified investors. Coinbase will use its Base blockchain as one of the underlying networks and purchase the tokens itself, adding the Mubadala fund to the company's balance sheet. Reportedly, this is the first time a major U.S. publicly listed company has utilized compliant tokenized assets for native on-chain treasury management. The product has currently attracted approximately $75 million in capital, with investors encompassing traditional institutions and crypto-native allocators. Mubadala manages nearly $400 billion in assets, and this tokenization aims to overcome the high barriers of traditional private equity and expand the potential investor base.
