According to Digital Asset, among the four unjust enrichment restitution lawsuits filed by South Korean crypto asset exchange Bithumb due to the Bitcoin misdelivery incident in February this year, the first case has been scheduled for judgment at 2 PM on August 27 at the Seoul Central District Court. This case targets users who sold the mistakenly delivered Bitcoin and held the cash, involving an amount of approximately 194 million Korean won. Of the remaining three cases, two will hold their first hearing between late August and early September, while one has not yet determined the court date.
TechFlow News, July 23, according to Digital Asset reports, among the 4 unjust enrichment restitution lawsuits filed by South Korean crypto asset exchange Bithumb due to the Bitcoin misissuance incident in February this year, the first case is scheduled to be pronounced at 2 PM on August 27 at the Seoul Central District Court. The case targets users who sold the mistakenly paid Bitcoin and hold cash, with the amount involved being approximately 194 million Korean won. Among the remaining 3 cases, 2 will have their first hearing between late August and early September, and the court date for 1 has not yet been determined.
Previously, Bithumb mistakenly issued 620,000 Bitcoins instead of Korean won points during the distribution of event rewards, which triggered investigations by South Korean financial regulatory authorities and parliamentary accountability. Bithumb subsequently reported that as of March 10, 99% of the 1,788 Bitcoins that remained unrecovered have been retrieved.
