This case targets users who sold the mistakenly delivered Bitcoin and held the cash, involving an amount of approximately 194 million Korean won. Of the remaining three cases, two will hold their first hearing between late August and early September, while one has not yet determined the court date.

Previously, Bithumb mistakenly issued 620,000 Bitcoins instead of Korean won points during the distribution of event rewards, which triggered investigations by South Korean financial regulatory authorities and parliamentary accountability. Bithumb subsequently reported that as of March 10, 99% of the 1,788 Bitcoins that remained unrecovered have been retrieved.
