TechFlow reports, July 21, according to The Block, crypto asset management company CoinShares has officially launched its UCITS platform and simultaneously listed its first fund—the CoinShares Bitcoin Mining UCITS ETF, which began trading on the Deutsche Börse Xetra on Tuesday. The platform aims to tap into Europe's 26.3 trillion euro (approximately 30 trillion US dollars) UCITS ecosystem, targeting major institutional investors such as pension funds, insurance companies, and private banks.
CoinShares stated that the core obstacle previously hindering institutional entry lay in product structure, as many institutions' investment mandates restrict them from holding debt securities; the introduction of the UCITS framework will effectively remove this restriction. Company Co-founder and CEO Jean-Marie Mognetti stated that this move marks CoinShares' official entry into the UCITS market, with more digital assets and thematic investment strategies to be launched subsequently.
