TechFlow News, July 20, according to Forbes, Microsoft has released an urgent out-of-band security update (KB5121767) for Windows 11 versions 25H2 and 24H2 to fix performance issues and system shutdown failures caused by the previous July Patch Tuesday update (KB5101650) on some Dell devices.
The issue stems from a conflict between the latest Windows USB-C Connection Manager interface and the Intel Innovation Platform Framework processor driver. Known affected devices include models such as Dell Pro Max 14/16 Premium and Dell XPS 17 9720/9730. Microsoft stated that this update is recommended only for affected Dell users to install, and unaffected devices do not require any action.
