According to the official website of the Brazilian Securities Commission (CVM), CVM officially established the Securities Tokenization Working Group (GTT) on July 17, 2026, aiming to carry out research, testing, and regulation formulation work surrounding Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), covering aspects such as registration, custody, trading, and clearing of securities. The initial operation period of the working group is 120 days, extendable by 30 days, bringing together representatives from 14 departments within CVM, and will invite government agencies, self-regulatory organizations, and market experts to participate. The first task is to submit a proposal for an experimental regulatory framework for securities tokenization to the CVM committee within 60 days after establishment. CVM Chairman Otto Lobo stated that tokenization is one of the most important structural changes in the capital market, requiring equally innovative regulatory responses.
