TechFlow reports that on July 20, the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF) published an article stating that the United States has fallen behind China in the field of humanoid robots. The article stated that in 2025, Chinese enterprises accounted for nearly 90% of global humanoid robot sales, with major enterprises selling a combined total of approximately 12,868 units, while major US enterprises sold only about 450 units.
ITIF pointed out that the US lacks a national robotics strategy and has slower enterprise adoption, while China has listed robots as a national strategic priority and promoted industrial expansion through subsidies and low-price advantages. ITIF called on the US to restore competitiveness through measures such as increasing R&D investment, supporting domestic manufacturers, and accelerating robot deployment.
