TechFlow News, July 13, according to CoinDesk, the Bolivian government is evaluating incorporating Tether (USDT) into the national payment system, exploring the feasibility of its parallel circulation with the Boliviano and the US dollar. The relevant proposal is still in the technical review stage, specific implementation rules have not yet been announced, nor has USDT been granted legal tender status.
After lifting restrictions on crypto asset trading in mid-2024, crypto trading activity in Bolivia has grown significantly. With a domestic shortage of US dollars, demand from businesses and residents for alternative payment and remittance tools has risen, and the practical application scenarios of stablecoins are expanding.
