TechFlow News, July 10, according to The Block, UK Labour Party MPs are pushing for an amendment to the Representation of the People Act, proposing to permanently ban parties and candidates from accepting crypto asset donations. The proposal is led by Liam Byrne, who stated that this move aims to reduce the risk of anonymous and non-compliant donations and maintain the integrity of the UK democratic system.
This move comes as Reform UK leader Nigel Farage faces scrutiny over involvement in crypto-related donations, and the relevant bill is expected to enter the report stage in the UK House of Commons next week.
