TechFlow News, July 09, according to an official blog post, OpenClaw announced the official establishment of a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation, jointly announced by co-founders Peter Steinberger and Dave Morin. The foundation aims to operate in an open and independent manner, with a mission to bring the capabilities of personal AI to everyone.
Currently, OpenClaw adds 4.5 million new users weekly and has become the fastest-growing code repository in GitHub history. The foundation has assembled a full-time team, with core members including Chief Architect Vincent Koc and other engineering and operations staff.
In terms of partners, OpenAI provides inference support and has become a major donor; NVIDIA launched NemoClaw, supporting local private deployment; Microsoft released the enterprise-level agent product Microsoft Scout based on OpenClaw technology; the University of Michigan became the largest donor and established the Agent Computing Research Institute. In addition, over 30 institutions including Tencent, Atlassian, Vercel, and Cloudflare have joined the collaboration network.
In terms of ecosystem, tools such as ClawHub, ClawSweeper, and Crabbox continue to be perfected; ClawCon has held 34 events in 16 countries globally, with nearly 30,000 participants.
