TechFlow reports that on June 26, Base resumed block production and transaction processing this morning after approximately two hours of downtime. Base stated that the mainnet sequencer and related systems have now stabilized, block production is normal, and widespread synchronization issues across the ecosystem have largely been resolved.
The root cause of this incident has been identified as a consensus issue triggered by an anomalous block, which prevented the generation of new blocks after block 47806542. According to the official statement, nodes still stuck at this block can recover by restarting and resynchronizing. The team is currently validating a fix to prevent similar issues from recurring and will release a comprehensive post-mortem report along with a detailed root-cause analysis in the near future.
