TechFlow reports that on June 18, Aztec Labs announced it is investigating a suspected exploit involving its Aztec Payments product, launched in 2021 and now discontinued. Approximately $2 million has been withdrawn from the associated immutable smart contract.
Aztec Labs stated that the product was Stage 2 Rollup, which ceased operations in 2022. The team does not hold administrative keys or system control and therefore cannot pause or upgrade the system.
Officially, it was also noted that this incident is unrelated to the exploit of the discontinued Aztec Connect product, which was decommissioned on June 14, 2026. Further updates will be announced separately.
