TechFlow reports that on June 18, Yu Xian, founder of SlowMist, posted on X stating that Aztec appears to have been hacked again. Aztec’s Private Rollup Bridge is suspected to have been exploited, resulting in the abnormal withdrawal of approximately 1,158 ETH, 150,000 DAI, and 0.46963295 renBTC, totaling roughly $2.15 million.
Preliminary analysis suggests the attacker may have exploited the Escape Hatch mechanism within the RollupProcessor, submitting an acceptable proof during the open window period to trigger the contract into releasing escrowed assets according to specified parameters. The exact cause of the incident and the actual losses remain pending official confirmation.
