TechFlow News, June 14: According to a Reuters report, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg acknowledged in an internal memo to employees that the company made some mistakes while driving its AI transformation through layoffs and role realignments. He noted that organizational change is inherently highly complex, and new missteps may still occur in the future; however, Meta will strive to enhance the stability of its transition process.
In May this year, Meta laid off approximately 10% of its workforce and reassigned around 7,000 employees to AI-related roles to support model training and the development of its AI business. This move constitutes a key component of Meta’s ongoing AI strategy.
Zuckerberg stated that the company does not anticipate conducting company-wide layoffs again this year and will endeavor to find new internal positions for employees reassigned to AI projects, thereby minimizing the impact of organizational changes on staff.
