TechFlow News, June 11: According to Bloomberg, Meta Platforms Inc. has completed its operational separation from Manus and halted all data sharing between the two companies. Sources familiar with the matter revealed that Meta—the parent company of Facebook and Instagram—has effectively erected a firewall between itself and the Chinese firm Manus. Since the beginning of this month, Meta has barred Manus and its employees from accessing the U.S. company’s internal data systems, according to these sources. The sources also stated that Meta employees can no longer use Manus’ tools for internal projects. Due to the sensitive nature of internal decision-making, the sources requested anonymity. An internal memo seen by Bloomberg News indicates that Meta is phasing out Manus’ business. The memo instructs employees to migrate existing Manus projects onto Meta’s own systems and refrain from initiating any new work on artificial intelligence platforms.
