TechFlow News, June 10: Botanix, a Bitcoin-equivalent EVM Layer 2 network, announced it will gradually shut down the Botanix network and urged community users to withdraw their Bitcoin and other assets before July 9, 2026; thereafter, remaining Bitcoin will be consolidated, and all other assets or tokens on the network will become unrecoverable.
Botanix stated that although Spiderchain has been live on mainnet for one year with 100% uptime and zero security incidents—processing approximately 25 million transactions, supporting 200,000 wallets, and facilitating tens of millions of dollars in asset transfers—the team concluded that its Bitcoin-based blockchain and application experiments have failed to validate product-market fit within the current market conditions and timeframe, leading to the decision to cease operations.
