TechFlow reports that on May 30, Sui officially announced the restoration of its mainnet; network activity and user transaction processing have both returned to normal.
According to the official disclosure, this network outage occurred during the deployment of a long-term fix. When validators restarted and deployed the new version, the initialization of the epoch’s initial random number failed to complete. Combined with a potential bug related to state persistence, this prevented the network from smoothly transitioning to the next epoch.
Sui stated that validators have completed the relevant fixes and restarted the network, and the mainnet is now operating normally. The team will release a detailed post-mortem report later, outlining the root cause of the incident and the measures taken for improvement.
