TechFlow News: On May 24, according to Cointelegraph, the Ethereum Foundation recently faced criticism from the community over its ETH sales, unstaking activities, and relatively limited public communication. However, blockchain researcher and investor William Mougayar defended the Foundation, stating that the public has long misunderstood its role. ETH, the Ethereum network, and the Ethereum Foundation itself represent three distinct entities: ETH is an asset; Ethereum is a shared computational infrastructure; and the Foundation is a non-profit organization tasked with advancing protocol development—its goals even include “gradually making founders less relevant.” The Ethereum Foundation is currently pursuing a “subtractive path,” strengthening the network by driving protocol upgrades, funding foundational research, and reducing its own centralized influence.
