The 14-point proposal aims to formally end hostilities and open a 30-day negotiation window for detailed discussions on issues including Iran’s nuclear program, sanctions relief, and secure passage through the Strait of Hormuz. Pakistani diplomatic sources stated that Iranian officials are expected to issue an official response on May 8, and the U.S. side is awaiting Iran’s position on key issues.
Iran recently submitted a new 14-point proposal to the U.S. via Pakistan, its intermediary. Key elements of the proposal include ensuring no further military aggression, U.S. military compensation payments, and establishing a new management mechanism for the Strait of Hormuz.
