TechFlow News, April 29: A White House official stated that U.S. President Donald Trump met with executives from oil and natural gas companies on Tuesday local time. Also in attendance were White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, Treasury Secretary Bessent, and Vice President Vance. According to the official, participants discussed “steps already taken by President Trump to ease global oil market pressures, as well as measures we could implement—should necessary—to extend the current embargo for several months while minimizing impacts on U.S. consumers.” A Chevron spokesperson confirmed that CEO Mike Wirth attended the meeting and discussed the global oil market’s disruption caused by the U.S.-Israel conflict with Iran.
