TechFlow News, April 27: According to The Wall Street Journal, North Carolina Republican Senator Thom Tillis stated on Sunday local time that he would support the Senate confirmation of Kevin Warsh as Federal Reserve Chair—a move that clears the final major hurdle for Trump’s chosen successor to Jerome Powell.
Tillis had refused for months to vote in favor of Warsh, stating he would not advance any Federal Reserve nominee’s confirmation while the Department of Justice’s criminal investigation into Powell remained ongoing. He described the criminal probe as an attack on the central bank’s independence—but the investigation appears to have concluded last Friday. (Jinshi)
