TechFlow News: On April 26, Evan Tangeman, a 22-year-old resident of California, was sentenced to 70 months in prison on Friday for participating in a criminal scheme that stole approximately $263 million worth of cryptocurrency from victims through social engineering fraud and home invasions.
According to a Department of Justice (DOJ) announcement, Tangeman pleaded guilty to the charges in December 2025 and admitted to assisting members of the criminal organization in laundering at least $3.5 million in illicit funds. The DOJ stated that, in addition to imprisonment, he was sentenced to three years of supervised release.
