TechFlow reports that on April 9, the Monad Foundation officially announced the launch of its Dedicated Device Subsidy Program (MF Security Initiative), which will provide subsidized dedicated signing laptops to protocol teams on Monad whose total value locked (TVL) is no less than $2.5 million, for use in multisig operations, treasury management, and other critical functions.
The Monad Foundation notes that several major security incidents in the DeFi space could have been avoided by using dedicated devices. Everyday-use computers—used for web browsing, coding, instant messaging, video conferencing, and more—are subject to persistent security risks; once compromised, attackers can manipulate the transaction details, hash values, and confirmation flows visible to users, rendering verification meaningless. While hardware wallets are essential, they cannot fully prevent attacks if the host machine has already been compromised—attackers may still tamper with the signing payload or inject fraudulent hashes.
Eligible protocol teams must complete mandatory security training and standard KYC procedures before claiming the subsidy. Projects interested in applying may email secteam@monad.foundation or contact the Monad Foundation via existing communication channels.
