TechFlow News: On April 3, the decentralized email project Dmail Network announced that it will gradually discontinue all services starting May 15, 2026. The team cited several reasons for the shutdown: excessively high bandwidth, storage, and computational costs associated with decentralized infrastructure—costs that rise exponentially with user growth; repeated attempts to implement monetization models and commercialization strategies have failed to identify a sustainable revenue path; the native token has not achieved widespread real-world utility, resulting in an incomplete economic model; a sudden cooling of the crypto market led to strategic misjudgments, prompting successive departures of core team members; additionally, multiple fundraising rounds failed, acquisition negotiations fell through, and funds are nearly depleted.
The team urges users to export their emails and deactivate their accounts before May 15. After that date, all nodes will cease operation, and emails will no longer be accessible.
