TechFlow News, April 1: According to The Wall Street Journal, asset management firm Franklin Templeton has announced the acquisition of 250 Digital—a spin-off from venture capital firm CoinFund—to expand its cryptocurrency investment business.
250 Digital announced its spin-off from CoinFund and independence in January this year, led by former CoinFund executives Christopher Perkins and Seth Ginns, and primarily offers cryptocurrency investment strategies to institutional investors. Franklin Templeton entered the cryptocurrency space as early as 2018 and has since assembled a digital assets team of over 50 professionals. This acquisition represents the company’s latest move to deepen its digital assets footprint.
