According to CoinDesk, Jack Dorsey’s payments company Square announced on Monday that it has begun automatically enabling Bitcoin payment functionality for millions of eligible U.S. small businesses—no additional setup required from merchants. Transactions are automatically converted to U.S. dollars at checkout by default, shielding merchants from Bitcoin price volatility and eliminating the need to modify custody or accounting processes. Furthermore, this feature will remain free of processing fees through 2026.
