TechFlow News, March 26: According to Turkey’s NTV Television, a Turkish oil tanker fully loaded with crude oil was attacked by a drone in the Black Sea near Istanbul. The report states that the attack occurred 15 nautical miles from the Bosphorus Strait and targeted the oil tanker M/T Altura. Vessel tracking data indicates that the tanker was carrying approximately one million barrels of Urals crude oil from Novorossiysk. The M/T Altura has been sanctioned by the United Kingdom and the European Union but has not yet been added to the U.S. sanctions list. According to Turkish maritime news website HaberDenizde, an explosion occurred on the vessel’s bridge, and water ingress was reported in the engine room. No casualties have been reported so far.
