TechFlow News, March 26: According to CCTV News, early on March 26 local time, the Chairman of the Civil Commission of Iran’s Islamic Parliament stated, “We are drafting legislation that will both legally safeguard Iran’s sovereignty, control, and regulatory authority over the Strait of Hormuz and generate state revenue by imposing transit fees.” It is reported that a draft of this bill has already been prepared but has not yet matured into a complete proposal. Next week, it will be submitted to the Parliament Research Center for refinement with input from legal experts, and subsequently introduced and tracked in Parliament following its next session. Under this proposed legislation, Iran would levy transit fees on vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz. (Jinshi Data)
