TechFlow News, March 23: According to on-chain investigator ZachXBT, a coordinated scam network comprising over 10 X accounts has been uncovered. This network deliberately inflates traffic by sensationalizing war- and politics-related fear-mongering content, then leverages that traffic to promote cryptocurrency scams.
The network’s modus operandi is as follows: It purchases pre-existing X accounts with established followings, uses AI to fabricate fake personas (e.g., an “Asian version” impersonating Mario Nawfal), and posts exaggerated or entirely false fear-inducing content multiple times daily. Smaller accounts within the network cross-retweet each other to amplify visibility, while also luring unwitting large accounts into engagement—further boosting dissemination. Ultimately, fake giveaways or “pump-and-dump” schemes are promoted in the comments section of these accounts.
On February 22, 2026, ten accounts within this network simultaneously promoted the token $ORAMAMA—then abruptly ceased all mention of it. On-chain data reveals the pump-and-dump scheme generated six-figure USD profits. ZachXBT assesses that the network is currently accumulating engagement metrics in preparation for its next scam campaign. ZachXBT urges platforms to suspend these accounts and hold perpetrators legally accountable.
