TechFlow News, March 19: According to a TechCrunch report, Trevor Milton, founder of Nikola—who was previously convicted of fraud and later pardoned by President Trump—is planning to enter the AI aviation sector. Last December, Milton and an investment group acquired the struggling aircraft manufacturer SyberJet Aircraft and intend to raise $1 billion to drive its transformation.
It is reported that Milton has recruited dozens of former Nikola employees and is actively seeking funding from potential investors in regions such as Saudi Arabia, while also spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on lobbying efforts. His core objective is to develop an entirely new avionics system from scratch to build “the first light jet centered on AI-powered flight,” thereby gaining access to defense contracting opportunities.
Milton candidly admitted that building aircraft is “ten times harder than building Nikola.”
