TechFlow news: On March 17, according to JINSHI Data, Joe Kent, Director of the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center, resigned because “Israel forced the United States into war with Iran.” Earlier this month, U.S. Secretary of State Rubio’s remarks stirred widespread controversy among the President’s supporters, as he claimed Israel was determined to launch an attack against Iran, thereby compelling the United States to act. Rubio later revised his statement, while Trump denied this was the U.S. government’s original intention. When asked whether Israel had forced Trump to take action against Iran, Trump responded: “Based on how negotiations have progressed, I believe Iran was planning to strike first. I don’t want that to happen. So, if anything, perhaps I’m the one who pressured Israel into acting.” This argument failed to convince Kent, whose wife, Sharon, was killed in a suicide bombing in Syria in 2019. In his resignation letter, Kent wrote: “Israel has waged a ‘disinformation campaign’ that has completely undermined your ‘America First’ principle and inflamed pro-war sentiment to push for war against Iran.” Kent added: “I hope you will seriously reflect on what we are doing in Iran—and, more importantly, for whom we are doing it.”
