TechFlow News, March 17: According to a Cointelegraph report, Crypto.com has announced a partnership with KG Inicis, a major South Korean payment gateway and value-added network service provider, to launch cryptocurrency payment services for foreign tourists visiting South Korea.
KG Inicis processes hundreds of millions of transactions annually, and approximately 190,000 merchants under its umbrella will integrate Crypto.com Pay, enabling international travelers to pay using digital assets both in physical stores and on online platforms. Merchants may choose to receive payments instantly in either fiat currency or digital assets.
Eric Anziani, President and Chief Operating Officer of Crypto.com, stated that KG Inicis holds roughly a 40% share of the South Korean payment market, and this collaboration aims to deliver a more convenient digital asset payment experience for visitors to South Korea.
Prior to this, several countries—including Bhutan and Thailand—have already rolled out cryptocurrency payment initiatives targeting tourists; South Korea’s latest partnership continues this trend.
