TechFlow News: On March 17, the Coinbase Developer Platform (@CoinbaseDev) officially announced three major updates to the x402 protocol: First, support for payments in all ERC-20 tokens—developers can now accept on-chain payments in USDC, EURC, and any other ERC-20 token via EIP-3009 and Permit2. Second, the launch of Sign-in-with-X (SIWX), enabling cross-chain wallet login across EVM and Solana; buyers can access purchased content without re-paying by signing with their wallets, built upon standards including CAIP-122 and EIP-4361. Third, the release of the x402 MCP Toolkit, empowering developers to monetize MCP tools with one click and directly integrate them into AI workflows.
