TechFlow News, March 15: According to Caixin Global, U.S. President Donald Trump stated on March 14 local time that Iran has expressed willingness to negotiate a ceasefire, but the conditions it has currently proposed “are not good enough,” and therefore the United States will not reach an agreement with Iran to end the war—at least for now. In an interview, Trump said: “Iran wants a deal, but I don’t want one right now because the terms aren’t good enough.” He did not specify the negotiation terms but emphasized that any agreement must be “extremely solid” and hinted that Iran must completely abandon its nuclear program. Regarding military operations, Trump claimed that strikes by the United States and Israel have severely weakened Iran’s military capabilities. He stated that the U.S. military has destroyed most of Iran’s missiles, drones, and related production facilities, adding that these capabilities “will be completely eliminated within two days.” Trump also confirmed that U.S. forces have struck Kharg Island—the hub of Iran’s oil exports—saying Washington has “nearly completely destroyed the island,” while deliberately avoiding damage to critical energy pipelines to prevent reconstruction from taking years.
