TechFlow News, February 24: According to a report by the Thai media cited by the WeChat public account “Singapore Today,” a Chinese suspect allegedly involved in fraud via a cryptocurrency platform was recently arrested in Samut Prakan Province, Thailand. The suspect, nicknamed “Director Duan,” is linked to the BHE Exchange cryptocurrency platform fraud case.
BHE Exchange previously issued a token named DDO, promising investors an annual return of 6% and a 20-fold appreciation within ten years, attracting approximately 20,000 investors. Later, the platform abruptly shut down, rendering investors unable to withdraw their funds and resulting in losses totaling approximately $128 million (about RMB 900 million). After fleeing China in 2024, the suspect settled in Thailand and frequently changed residences to evade investigation. Thai authorities have now revoked his residence permit and deported him back to China for further investigation and trial.
