TechFlow news: On February 4, Stani.eth, founder and CEO of Aave, disclosed on Twitter that Aave is gradually shutting down the Family iOS wallet app. Family Accounts will remain part of Aave’s infrastructure, supporting the Aave app and helping onboard millions of users into decentralized finance.
Stani stated that through this process, they realized attracting millions of users requires purpose-built experiences—such as savings functionality—rather than generic, open-ended wallet experiences; the team will now fully focus on bringing Aave to mainstream adoption.
Previously, Aave partnered with the Family team in 2023 and ultimately acquired the team.
