TechFlow News: On February 4, according to This is Money, Smarter Web Company—the UK’s largest Bitcoin treasury company—successfully listed on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange on February 3 under the ticker “SWC.” Its share price opened at 43 pence on its first trading day, with a market capitalization of approximately £118 million.
Andrew Webley, CEO of the company, expressed confidence that Smarter Web Company will join the FTSE 250 Index by September 2026 and ultimately progress to the FTSE 100 Index. Founded in 2009, the company initially focused on web design but recently shifted its strategy to holding Bitcoin on its balance sheet.
The company has acquired 2,674 bitcoins, with an average purchase price of approximately $111,000 per bitcoin. As of Tuesday, Bitcoin was trading at around $76,000—down from its peak of roughly $124,000 in October last year. Webley stated that the company plans to continue accumulating Bitcoin.
