TechFlow News, February 3: Ethereum developer Christine D. Kim reminded readers in her latest update that the proposal deadline for the Hegota upgrade is February 4, 2026. Development teams are concurrently advancing both the Glamsterdam and Hegota upgrades, aiming to deploy them within the same calendar year.
Technically, client teams are implementing partial cell proofs, which will enable the Ethereum mainnet to support a higher number of blobs. Related testing is currently underway on the blob-devnet-0 testnet, though Prysm and Lighthouse clients exhibit issues with field responses.
The bals-devnet-2 testnet for Glamsterdam is scheduled to launch on February 4; developers must submit two Execution API pull requests before this date. Meanwhile, the epbs-devnet-0 testnet is expected to go live by the end of February and will incorporate all changes from the latest consensus specification v1.7.0-alpha.2.
Kim also noted that inspired by Vitalik Buterin’s recent discussion on creator tokens, she shared insights on the role of cryptocurrency in the creator economy in the full version of her update.
