TechFlow News: On February 3, according to The Block, the Avalanche Policy Alliance announced the formation of an Advisory Committee on February 3, led by Lee Schneider, General Counsel of Ava Labs, and including Chris Holmes, a member of the UK House of Lords, along with several executives from the Avalanche ecosystem. The committee will focus on three core priority areas in 2026: token classification, defining intermediaries, and safeguarding internet access rights.
The committee’s formation coincides with ongoing regulatory developments worldwide: the United States is working toward passing comprehensive cryptocurrency legislation; the European Union has begun implementing its Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation; the UK plans to roll out a new regulatory framework by 2027; and Japan continues to lead in rulemaking.
