TechFlow News, January 28: According to The Block, NFT marketplace Nifty Gateway announced on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday that it will continue hosting users’ NFT metadata and media content permanently after the platform shuts down. The platform plans to migrate most NFT metadata and media to Arweave, a blockchain-based data storage network, ensuring collectors retain permanent access to their assets even after the platform’s closure.
For certain NFTs minted in 2021 or earlier—whose metadata is permanently linked to Nifty Gateway’s own servers—the company has pledged to “continue hosting this metadata indefinitely.”
Additionally, Nifty Gateway has extended the deadline for users to withdraw their NFTs to April 23, granting users a 90-day window to transfer their assets. The platform also stated it is developing a bulk withdrawal tool to help users holding multiple NFTs efficiently migrate their assets before the deadline.
