TechFlow News: On January 23, Dan Romero, co-founder of Farcaster, announced that the Farcaster protocol will remain open and continue operating. Romero stated that Farcaster had 250,000 monthly active users and over 100,000 funded wallets in December. The acquiring company, Neynar, is a venture-backed startup planning to steer Farcaster toward a more developer-centric direction.
Romero also noted that Merkle intends to fully refund the $180 million raised from investors. Over the past five years, the team has diligently managed investor capital. Additionally, he clarified that his prior home purchase was funded using proceeds from the Coinbase IPO.
